The Revolution MUST be televised

So. You've stumbled upon the Just-A-Buck blog. We're here to Educate.Entertain.& Elevate. We're a group of young brothers/lovers of the Word creating a gathering where every poet, mc, musician, rapper, singer, or appreciator of the vocal arts can spit their heart, minus the judgement. Its all love. No matter what race,creed,culture, or sexual orientation, we just want EVERYONE to be able to express themselves in a positive manner.

The just-a-buck open mic got started when Rob D. and -topic came up with the idea on a "spur of the moment" kinda whim and its taken off since. We're averaging around 50 people every MONDAY night and get about 20 artists on the mic in our 2 hour segment, all while charging "Just-A-Buck" to get in the door. Cheap, fun and productive all at the same time...If you ask me you can't do any better than that!

My name is Steve, I go by "iQ" in the stage realm and I am a lover of all things art. I breathe words and exhale them on the stage. We'll do some in depth "biography" posts later on so you can get to know the "Just-A-Buck Boys" a little bit better.

But for now, The Just-A-Buck crew consists of Rob D, -Topic, myself, Tone and Spokenword Artist Soule and we're all dudes in college, trying to make it happen. This blog will be dedicated to appreciation and analysis of all things Art and some things not. Good music, relationships, poetry...you name it, one of us probably knows a little something about it and it will probably be covered here. Thats all for now, but be on the look out for lots more to come!
